Healthy Eating: Healthy Candies and Where to Get Them
I just saw a wonderful recipe for healthy candy. Can you tell I’m still slobbering all over myself?
Healthy candies? Really? You mean I can slobber, I mean really slobber, like slobber in real life, and still eat healthy… still lose weight?
The recipe I saw was for a no bake coconut candy, and I saw the recipe at the website Whole New Mom. Wow, it was great!
Check Whole New Mom for the recipe for this great, no bake coconut candy.
It is sugar free, dairy free, egg free, and grain free.
Of course it has some chocolate. (Yea, I heard you ask.) What is coconut without some chocolate with it!
I was thinking I would use some dark cacao chips drizzled on top, but there is a whole world of real foods out there. The carob chips could work really well too. Your choice.
The important thing is that you are aware that you can eat healthy candy as you eat healthy foods.
Also, as some of us need to do, (don’t worry; I’m talking about me), you can even eat candy and lose weight if you find the best healthy candy for you… and plan it into your diet in a healthy way.
You don’t have to make your own candy either. That’s a good thing, but you don’t always need to. You can find healthy choices, real food, clean eating, and special products for special diet needs all over the place if you just look!
You can order sugar free candy online from many online candy retailers like Russell Stover Candies, http://www.russellstover.com/, and at SugarLess Shop at http://www.sugarlessshop.com/. There are also tons of really nice sugar free chocolate gift baskets from places like Figis.com and low carb and sugar free chocolates from The Candy Shop at TheCandyShop.com.
Y C Chocolate at http://ycchocolate.com/ has candy products and candy gift boxes that are low carb, gluten free, sugar free, and all natural. Their dark chocolate bars made with Stevia look quite nice too.
Julian Bakery at www.julianbakery.com/, yes the company that bakes and sells the famous zero carb bread, has Paleo Candy Bars that are 82% dark chocolate which are low carb, sugar free, gluten free, and soy free.
Julian Bakery also has a Righteously Raw Candy Bar that has organic dark chocolate and acai berries for good measure. The Bars are made with the low glycemic natural sweetener agave nectar. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
Then there is The Natural Candy Store. The Natural Candy Store has all sorts of fun things that run the path of natural and organic sweets for all occasions.
Oh, this place has everything natural it seems, so long as it is sweet and… sweet.
You can get packages for parties and buy gifts to mail to someone special, (gift certificates for chocolate gift giving). You can buy organic candy for Halloween, buy in bulk for holidays, or buy candy for weddings, knowing you are purchasing candy that is non-GMO, organic, and all natural. The Natural Candy Store also has some candy tailored to special diet needs as well including allergy sensitives, gluten free diets, dairy free needs, vegan and vegetarian diets, Kosher, and well, just name about whatever you want (or what you do NOT want in your candy order.
I’ve been wondering if there is a candy made with pure natural maple syrup. I found some Maple Cotton Candy at The Natural Candy Store!
I’m sure they may have some more candy made with pure maple syrup, but at this point (looking at all the candy I’ve been looking at today), I’m afraid to look. I might just buy some right now! I mean RIGHT NOW!
I also love their logo which says The Natural Candy Store – “All the Fun Stuff Without the Funny Stuff”.
Organic grocery stores like Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe’s do not usually focus on sugar free candy, but they usually do carry good quality dark chocolate, and some will carry candy for diabetics and healthy candy snacks that are low on the glycemic index which do not raise your blood sugar levels.
Did you know Whole Foods Market has beautiful chocolate gift baskets full of natural and organic products?
Maybe there are some healthy food stores near you that might carry healthy candy for yourself, for your upcoming holidays and parties, or for gift giving!
Candy Warehouse at http://www.candywarehouse.com/ has sugar free hard candy bulk purchases as well as sugar free suckers, sugar free jelly beans, sugar free peppermints for Christmas, and sugar free gummy bears, just to name a few.
By the way, Candy Warehouse has bulk candy with free shipping.
Yummy Earth at yummyearth.com/, a speciality shop that sells organic candy products, also has free shipping on bulk candy orders. Hotels, businesses, vendors, and distributors will certainly enjoy the free shipping in bulk. However, even smaller customers who don’t need to want to buy in bulk can enjoy ordering their candy with free shipping when the purchase is $35.00 of products (at the time of this writing) or more. If you order less even, it is only $2.99 with orders of $25.00 or more.
If you are like me… to stay healthy… I NEED to order a little less to have around the house! Now THAT’S what I’m talking about now… portion control, baby! 🙂
Even traditional gift basket businesses like you see at Gourmet Gift Baskets, see them at www.gourmetgiftbaskets.com/, are jumping into the health food industry offering organic gift baskets and gluten free gift baskets that include organic candy drops.
Did I mention the upscale and ever lovable Harry and David? Harry and David offers some mouth watering boxes of sugar free chocolate candy and many gorgeous sugar free gourmet gift baskets and towers? Oh, I didn’t mention it yet? Maybe I wanted to keep all that sugar free candy to myself! (Now that’s probably not a good idea though, if you know what I mean.)
Well OK… Harry and David… http://www.harryanddavid.com/
Whether you want some homemade candy or want to purchase candy from an online candy store or a store near your home for your family, yourself, a business acquaintance, pastor, teacher, friend, wedding, newborn baby, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day,Halloween, a wedding shower, or whatever the case may be at the time, you should be able to find candy that is either just right for your or someone’s specific dietary needs or full of God’s bountiful blessings.
As much as I love the healthy candy I saw at Whole New Mom, I believe there is always time in life for a little more healthy candy and someone to share it with.
Just don’t slobber over the one you love.
