Low calorie dessert recipes can be just as exciting as traditional recipes if you use tempting, low calorie ingredients.   Make all your recipes low calorie by using as many naturally sweet fruits and vegetables as possible, and incorporate low carb and natural or sugar free products from the grocery store to help you keep the calories down in your recipes.

Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake

(Pumpkin is in many great low calorie desserts.  In fact, pumpkin is considered a negative calorie food, meaning it takes more calories to digest this vegetable than you get eating it!  With that in mind, here’s a great protein shake for weight loss.)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup canned pumpkin (Use pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 package Splenda or Truvia
  • 5 to 8 ice cubes

Directions:  Whip all ingredients well in a blender.  The more ice cubes, the thicker and yummier this drink will be!

Low Calorie Wedding Cake Shake

(Now how many times can you say “wedding cake” in the same breath as “low calorie recipes”?)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or skim milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Jello Sugar Free Cheesecake Pudding Mix (non-mixed powder from the package)
  • 1 Tablespoon Jello Sugar Free White Chocolate Pudding Mix (non-mixed powder from the package)
  • 4 to 6 ice cubes

Directions:  Put all ingredients into a blender or Ninja and blend well for an unbelievable shake that is low calorie and low fat.
